Killswitch Update — Nov25

Today we’re announcing that we’ve shipped a major Killswitch update to make managing multiple sites and EV charger users even simpler — and to give all Killswitchers more flexible ways to charge (and get paid) for your EV chargers usage.

What’s new

  • Sub-accounts with revenue sharing: create sub-accounts (e.g., franchises, tenants, departments) and split revenue by percentage, automatically on every payment processed. No spreadsheets. No more month-end calculations and reimbursements.
  • RFID Tag Sharing across sub-accounts: assign an RFID card once, let approved sub-accounts use it. Great for shared car parks, multi-tenant buildings, and office parks.
  • Prepaid charging by kWh: in addition to time-based sessions, you can now sell kWh-based prepaid sessions (e.g., “25 kWh”). A fairer and clearer price for the end user in prepaid scenarios.
  • Prepaid RFID Tags with automatic balance management: You can now enable payments for RFID cards and let users load a prepaid balance to be used in their charging sessions.

Why it matters

  • Less admin: grow your EV charging host network without increasing manual work. Keep all your partner accounts under a single “Master Account” and manage centrally devices, cards and reporting.
  • More control: Implement prepaid flows based on energy consumption (kWh) to prevent unexpected card declines in post-paid transactions.
  • Happier drivers: With pre-paid RFID cards, charging is faster and payment processing on each session is avoided.
  • Cleaner accounting: revenue splits handled at the source.

Getting started

Sub-accounts & Revenue Sharing

  • To enable Master Account / Sub-account management, please get in touch with our support desk and we will activate this for you without any additional cost.
RFID Tag Sharing & Unknown Tags
  • From the menu go to “Account Settings” and in the “RFID Tag Settings” section select the sharing model: Local sharing or Global sharing.
  • Decide if unknown Tags should be automatically created for your Account.

Prepaid RFID Tags
  • From the “RFID Tag Settings” section, choose to activate payments for all Tags in your Account or activate payments individually on each RFID Tag.
  • Define your Tag Balance management parameters, such as Min balance and Min and Max top-up amount.
  • When adding an email to an RFID Tag, the system will automatically send the link to the balance management page to the Tag user.
  • Tag users can access their Tag management page by going to http://tag.killswitch.cc.
